Folsom Poverty Project
On August 16, 2010, Salwa Kasabian interviewed Pastor Nancy Atchley of Powerhouse Ministries about the hidden poverty in Folsom, California. Pastor Atchley acknowledged that there is a "hidden poverty" in Folsom, and there has been for years. People tend to think that all the well off people live in Folsom, while in reality there are hundreds of families living at or below the poverty level of less than $17,000 per year annual income. Assist Local is currently sponsoring a video project to educate the public about poverty in Folsom.
